Insights

Welcome to Warm Home

A quick orientation: what we do, what we don’t do, and how to use this site without getting overwhelmed.

Most people land here after the same experience: you start researching, you get ten different answers, and the whole thing begins to feel higher-stakes than it should.

Warm Home exists to make energy upgrades feel clearer and calmer — not louder.

What this site is

It’s a simple guide to the options that actually matter: heat pumps, insulation, solar, EV chargers, and air conditioning. We focus on the practical bits people usually struggle to piece together:

  • What each upgrade does (and what it doesn’t do)
  • What makes it work well in the real world
  • Where people get caught out
  • How to think in sensible steps rather than one giant leap

What this site is not

It’s not a hard-sell installer brochure, and it’s not a hype machine. If something “depends”, we’ll say it depends — and we’ll explain what it depends on.

How to use Insights

Insights are written to be readable, not technical. The goal is that you finish an article feeling:

  • more confident
  • less rushed
  • and clearer on what to do next

The simplest path (if you want one)

  1. Start with comfort: what rooms feel wrong and when?
  2. Then look at the building: insulation and draughts decide most outcomes.
  3. Then choose systems: heat pumps and solar work best when the basics are right.

If you’re unsure, that’s normal. The best decisions usually begin with understanding — not urgency.
